that Erin Merryn will be the Keynote speaker for the

FACT 2012 Conference 

Erin Merryn is the author of Stolen Innocence and Living for Today, memoirs about incest and rape. She graduated in May 2009 with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University. A leading participant in Take Back the Night, her goal is to raise awareness of abuse in order to end the stigma and silence. Since 2004 she has been traveling across America giving inspirational and motivational speeches at national conferences, community events, Children’s Advocacy Centers, colleges, and high schools. She has appeared on Oprah, Good Morning America and Montel Williams. Her writings have appeared in Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul, Daily Herald, and Teen Voices, among others. Erin spends her time between the suburbs of Chicago and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

The FACT Conference is coming up on October 11th!

Find out more about it this Saturday, October 1st at 5PM when FACT Committee Members Carole Ann Sewell and Mary Katherine Spencer join Terry Smith on WTVA’s FOCUS.

“For nearly 30 years, WTVA’s weekly Focus program has spanned a vast array of issues and events key to our communities. From medical to musical, political to financial, economic development to our military, host Terry Smith strives to learn about all aspects of what makes this area so unique. And, he asks the questions of newsmakers to get the answers you want to know about.”

• Mississippi Chapter of the National Association for Social Workers has approved FACT 2011 for 6 CE hours.
• Mississippi LPC Board of National Board for Certified Counselors has approved 5 hours for FACT 2011
• Educators attending FACT 2011 can apply for 6 Contact Hours  through The University of Mississippi (20$ fee).
• Mississippi Association of Addiction Professionals (MAAP) has approved 2 hours for FACT 2011.
• Mississippi Department of Human Services has approved 5  Foster Parent Training  Hours For FACT 2011.

We got approval from NASW for 6 CE hours.

Non-Profits can set up an information table that will be seen by many people working in social services and other community-centered fields.  The $50 fee covers a table and space for you to display your information.

Businesses can set up a  table that will be seen by many people who live in Northeast Mississippi. The $100 fee covers a table and space for you to to display your wares. Although you cannot conduct retail sales at this venue, you may give out samples, coupons, menus or other incentives to attract people to your business. You will also reap the benefits of being promoted on the FACT 2011 blog, web page and other social networking sites.
