• Mississippi Chapter of the National Association for Social Workers has approved FACT 2011 for 6 CE hours.
• Mississippi LPC Board of National Board for Certified Counselors has approved 5 hours for FACT 2011
• Educators attending FACT 2011 can apply for 6 Contact Hours  through The University of Mississippi (20$ fee).
• Mississippi Association of Addiction Professionals (MAAP) has approved 2 hours for FACT 2011.
• Mississippi Department of Human Services has approved 5  Foster Parent Training  Hours For FACT 2011.

We got approval from NASW for 6 CE hours.

Non-Profits can set up an information table that will be seen by many people working in social services and other community-centered fields.  The $50 fee covers a table and space for you to display your information.

Businesses can set up a  table that will be seen by many people who live in Northeast Mississippi. The $100 fee covers a table and space for you to to display your wares. Although you cannot conduct retail sales at this venue, you may give out samples, coupons, menus or other incentives to attract people to your business. You will also reap the benefits of being promoted on the FACT 2011 blog, web page and other social networking sites.

Irma J. Davis-Gibson, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at the Savannah State University where she provides instruction on the Master’s level and teaches across the curriculum.  She entered into academia after 21 years of clinical and administrative social work practice with various components of the federal government and ongoing experience with the Department of Family and Children Services.

Dr. Gibson will be presenting on two topics at the 2011 FACT CONFERENCE:

She has had the opportunities to present regionally, nationally and locally on child and family welfare issues and hip hop therapy including featured speaker for the 22^nd Annual National Youth at Risk Conference, plenary speaker for the Eighth Annual Mississippi Child Welfare Institute Conference and facilitator for The University of Louisiana at Monroe, title IV-E and FAIR Visions Inc. Summer 2010 Conference.  She has crossed international boundaries in her successful endeavors to culturally connect the U.S. and the Trinidad and Tobago child and family welfare systems. Published manuscripts in the Society for the Study of Social Problems’ Justice 21 project (April 2008) and The Mississippi Child Welfare Institute Conference proceedings (2010) are titled “Adoption Policy and Welfare Reform: Unfinished Business” and “The Plight of the Homeless, Convicted Felons and Society’s Miscarriage of Justice: It’s a Family Affair!” respectively. Works in progress include a feature in the book: Voices from a Broken Village, chapter titled: Society’s Miscarriage of Justice and its Impact Within the Village: What’s Really Going On?, Innovatively and Effectively Addressing Child and Family Welfare in the 21^st Century: Thinking outside the Box with Hip Hop Therapy and Child and Family Welfare in Crisis: Addressing the Cradle to Prison Pipeline 21^st Century Style are works in progress.

She received a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Paine College (magna Cum laude), a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. in Social Work from Clark Atlanta University.
